Tierpark Goldau 

is built on the rocks and debris that are left from the catastrophe of about 200 years ago. See Wildspitz hike. 
Unfortunately, on Christmas 99 storm Lothar knocked over most of the trees. The philosophy of the park  administration is, to leave it mostly to nature to build up the future forest. 

But there is still shade from the remaining trees and now, from some view points, you get a picture of the surrounding mountains Rigi and Rossberg (with Wildspitz).  The park is a whole entity. Walking on pleasant tracks, always near  giant rocks, the vistor get's information's about the evolution, plants, animals, geology. There are also class rooms available. The Park will be enlarged considerably.

After some Hiking tours this lovely park may be the shady place in hot summer days to take it easy for a day.
